Need to download an Ambir driver? Here’s how.

You need a new driver for your Ambir scanner. Maybe you got a new computer. Maybe you inherited a new scanner. Whatever your reason, here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Head to ambir.com.

Step 2: Click “Support”.

Step 3: Select your device from the scanners pictured. If you don’t see your scanner, continue to Step 4.

Step 4: If you don’t see your scanner pictured, click “View All Drivers >”.

Step 5: Find your device on the following screen and click the link. Note that there are both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers on under many scanners. If you know what operating system you’re running, skip ahead to Step 6. If you aren’t sure which you are running, there’s an easy way to find out:

First, click the Start button, then right-click “Computer” and select “Properties”.

In the Properties window, check under “System Type” for your operating system. If there is no mention of either 32 or 64-bit anywhere in the window, you have a 32-bit system.

Note: If you’re running windows XP or Vista, select Start>Control Panel>System to check your operating system.

Step 6: Once your download is complete, click the .exe file and follow the install wizard. The file should be in your Downloads folder.
